Complex Systems Science Laboratory

Japanese

We are interested in the mathematical structure of becoming/change. Complex systems science explores networks and dynamics of natural, life and social phenomena through theoretical analysis and computer simulation of their mathematical models. Our laboratory aims to recapture the meaning of fundamental concepts such as systems, dynamics, information, and complexity by studying concrete mathematical models. Recently, we are mainly studying the mathematical structure of (1) duality between things and processes, and (2) generation of new causes from effects, in various complex systems dynamics. A unique feature of our laboratory is the extended use of algebraic methods such as category theory.
